Komodo Liveaboard Diving
The dive safari liveaboard is a great way to cruise, explore and dive this region in style and comfort at a price everyone can afford. The Komodo Adventurer is suitable for groups of 8 or more persons looking for comfort, quality and great value. She has been custom designed as a dive boat for operating dive safari trips in the Komodo National Park.
There are 5 well-ventilated fan cooled cabins with a total capacity of 8, an indoor lounge and dining area, a large covered fore-deck and the upper sun-deck. She features a well equipped kitchen, two toilets with showers, a deck shower, dive deck, on board compressor, generator, etc . She is designed to be a comfortable and a practical platform for diving expeditions. And in Komodo, you really feel as though you are on expedition.
All of this is operated by Dive Komodo. Based in picturesque Labuan Bajo, the company was founded by Australian Greig Heighes; It is run by him and his manager- Frans Suhardi, who hails from Indonesia. The dive team and boat crews are highly professional. Their equipment is very good, boats comfortable, but most important of all, the dive guides are extremely safety concious. Their professionalism is a tribute to their training. There are drift dives and some dives with current in the archipelago and it is nice to know that you are always looked after, and that top cover is always there.
We have dived extensively with Dive Komodo-ask us why we reccomend them so highly.
Hotel & Day Diving
Stay in the Hotel Bintang Flores, and dive with Dive Komodo on day boats. The former is thoroughly reccomended for avid divers, but the latter is pleasant for families wishing to do some diving but not every day. The long day boat rides are pleasant and non divers can snorkel lounge on the roof and enjoy the enormous and awesome lunches after dives.
The Hotel Bintang flores is out of town on its own beach in a very picturesque setting. The restaurant is first class, the bar well stocked, the rooms large, simple but clean and comfortable. All are airconditioned and have satellite TV. The hotel has its own car transfer service where they will collect you and take you to the dive centre, town and the airport. This is a wonderfully unpretentious hotel with great views and good Indonesian service.
